Tekken 8 EVO 2025 Sign-Ups Hit Record High

The latest event in the Evolution Champion Series is fast approaching. It’s always a highlight for fighting game fans. This year though, it’ll be the first EVO for a few major releases. That’s always exciting, and some of these new games are setting records. This week, still a while out from the tournament, the Tekken 8 EVO 2025 sign-ups have broken the series’ past record.

In early sign-ups for the tournament, we’re already getting an idea of which games will be the biggest. Street Fighter 6 has a lot of attention, just like last year. However, the new release in the Tekken series appears to have propelled it further than any game in the series before. The Tekken player base for 8 is impressive so far, but it seems it’s got more pros interested too.

Tekken 8 EVO Sign Ups Pass Series’ Past Best

While we don’t fully know all of the registration numbers for EVO yet, we have an idea about Tekken. Organizers have just confirmed that it has just passed a significant milestone. Tekken 8 EVO sign ups have managed to exceed the previous high for the entire franchise. The debut tournament for 8 has more players hoping to attend than any for Tekken 7 or games before. s

This is a good idea of where the sign-ups for the tournament are at. Organizers haven’t said Tekken is leading the pack yet though. This means it might still be under the record sign-ups we’ve had for Street Fighter 6 at last year’s EVO. SF 6 has routinely broken records at fighting game events for sign-ups over the last 12 months, it’s great to see Tekken 8 having a similar effect.

This means we’ll be seeing a wider field of competitors at Tekken 8 EVO 2025. The Tekken World Tour this year also has a lot more interest than previously. Hopefully, this will result in one of our most exciting tournaments for Tekken 8 to date.
