Group A

  • TEAM TEAM
  • Virtus.pro
  • Keen Gaming
  • Team Liquid

Almost for sure, this group will be dominated by Virtus.pro. The battle for the second place will take place between Keen Gaming and Team Liquid. Based on what we’ve seen in recent months, Keen Gaming is the stronger side. Nevertheless, Liquid has a much higher ceiling and their individual players are all superstars. In fact, given the team’s results in 2017 and 2018, it’s actually incredible that they’ve been able to achieve so little this season.

Group B

  • Team Empire
  • Chaos Esports Club
  • Team Secret
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas

This should be an easy group for Team Secret. Only NiP can realistically pose a threat but even ppd’s squad is no match for Puppey’s at this point. With one title, another Grand Final and a 4th place at the three previous Majors, Secret is one of the best teams at this event and will probably dismantle everyone in group B.

Group C

  • paiN Gaming
  • Vici Gaming
  • PSG.LGD
  • Mineski

This group can only have two teams in the battle for the first two places and both of them are Chinese. Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD are vastly stronger than Mineski and paiN Gaming. So unless some miracle occurs, they should advance to the Upper Bracket at the end of the Group Stage. Keep in mind that the matches are Bo3. So you can’t have a situation where a top team has a bad draft and they lose the match as a result. They need to lose two out of three games. And that’s not likely to happen at this level.

Group D

  • Fnatic
  • Evil Geniuses
  • compLexity Gaming
  • OG

And finally, we have group D, where Fnatic and Evil Geniuses should dominate OG and compLexity Gaming. Keep in mind however that OG is now back to their TI 8 roster. With ana as their position 1 carry, we may see the TI champions play better than they did throughout the rest of the season. And that should give them a chance against EG and Fnatic. I’d say that Fnatic is the strongest competitor in this group, given the fact that they finished 3rd at the previous Major, while EG only finished 7th – 8th.

Following @NiPGaming’s success at the OGA Dota Pit Minor, we have now confirmed all the 16 competing teams at the MDL Disneyland® Paris Major.

We are therefore glad to announce the groups and schedule for #MDLDisney. Which group do you consider to be the group of death? pic.twitter.com/ZU9h3bLvVo
