After first leaking at the beginning of the year, we’re finally getting a bit more info on the MultiVersus McDonalds collab. Ahead of being officially announced, promo images were first spotted for this MultiVersus collaboration in January. They showed off new renders and made it clear the game was nearly back online! It took a few months to get full details, so why exactly are MultiVersus fighting game characters plastered all over fast food?
The new MultiVersus McDonalds collaboration is actually launching properly now. We’ve learned the game is making a full return in May 2025. A little earlier than some might have expected. This collaboration will help get the news out about the new game. Hopefully even widens its appeal from core platform fighting fans. This is how it’ll work.

MultiVersus McDonalds Promo Finally Unveiled
A new promotion for MultiVersus is coming alongside the game’s return. Happy Meals at McDonalds have always featured a small toy. It’s often taken from a movie or toy line popular with children in May, MultiVersus will be taking over the Happy Meals The included toy will feature one of the characters from MultiVersus. We’ll also see that new art style shown off.
The whole collab has even had a TV commercial, both to promote the burgers and fires plus the game itself. MultiVersus features characters pulled from across media, so there likely be someone in the game’s roster to please anyone.
The new collaboration will be available in May. Between this and other recent announcements, we’re starting to learn a lot more about how MultiVersus will look once it comes back.
Promo First Leaks
MultiVersus was one of the biggest fighting game launches in recent years hitting record player numbers. It died off fairly quickly from there though. In the time since we’ve seen some huge fighters launch like Street Fighter 6. The game is looking at a much more competitive landscape to capture fighting game players. What have learnt from this new MultiVersus McDonalds collab and when can we expect the game to return?

Early this year, new renders for each of the characters have been shown off. These first appeared as leaks of a McDonalds promotion. However, there are also seems to be hints at something new too.
There is art depicting Samurai Batman in the collab! This could be a skin for the existing Batman character or an entirely separate character coming to the roster.
McDonald’s MultiVersus is pointing to big changes to the game, at least visually so far. Its original removal from storefronts was to get the game “ready” to leave Beta, rather than having public early access. Hopefully, there’s a bit more on offer than just a new Batman MultiVersus skin when the game re-releases.
The McDonald’s MultiVersus collab definitely made it seem like the game will be making a comeback soon. Now we know a bit more, it seems these early leaks were right.
