LoL Patch 14.6 – Several item changes

Patch 14.5 came with a large list of changes, mainly looking at nerfing some of the most overpowered champions in the current meta. Champions like Twisted Fate, Senna, Seraphine, and others are finally getting the hammer treatment, to the joy of some players, myself included.

It will be now interesting to see whether a meta shift will happen, considering it’s been pretty stale in the past weeks. Some item changes have also been tweaked but there doesn’t seem to be much worth mentioning.

Going into Patch 14.6, we have already a few planned changes to the itemization (once again), according to our beloved game designer Spideraxe. This time, however, Riot is targeting the item recipes and components, changing either their costs or stats. While they may look minor, it does impact the early-to-mid-game transition, especially if the costs go up.

Below you can find the exact numbers and adjustments that are currently planned. Keep in mind, though, that the buffs or nerfs might be subject to further changes in the upcoming days.

Patch 14.6 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.6 will be released on Wednesday, March 20. This will be the 6th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

The main takeaway is that Karma won’t likely be a top tier pick anymore, especially in the mid lane. The nerfs are pointing will impact across every role, but at least she won’t be able to spam her Q like before. The Galio changes are quite exciting, even though I still don’t see him as a priority pick going forward.

To get a clearer idea of the meta, we will likely have to wait a bit more, considering we haven’t got many champions changes. In the meantime, check out our tier lists of the best champions for each role:
