LoL Patch 14.5 – Major Seraphine changes

Patch 14.4 came with a large list of changes which included several champions and items. The goal was to nerf some of the stronger picks, such as Twisted Fate and K’Sante, while also tweaking up a few champions like Rek’Sai to revamp her numbers.

In terms of items, the main highlights were the changes to Terminus and Black Cleaver, allowing them to proc armor (and magic penetration) much more quickly. It’s not surprising that ADCs who can take advantage of Terminus have gotten quite a big indirect buff.

Going into Patch 14.5, we should expect more changes on some of the most popular picks. One of them has been already included as Seraphine is expected to reduce her power as an APC and push her more onto the support role. Twisted Fate and Smolder are also receiving some major changes to tune them down a bit. The same is for Nidalee, who has been haunting the jungle lately.

On the side of buffs, Rek’Sai and Red Kayn are getting some love: we’ll see whether those two junglers will become more relevant in the upcoming weeks.

Below you can find the exact numbers and adjustments that are currently planned, according to game designer Spideraxe. Be aware that they might be subject to further changes in the upcoming days.

Patch 14.5 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.5 will be released on Wednesday, March 6. This will be the 5th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

The meta is still quite diverse, especially when it comes to solo queue. Lots of picks are being played, showing that Riot made the right changes to the item system and the new map. That said, the nerfs to some of the strong champions like Twisted Fate and Smolder might shake up the mid and bottom lane, especially given that TF is being flexed between the two roles. Aside from these changes, though, things should remain more or less the same.
