How to get Mythic Essence in LoL

Here is everything you need to know about one of the rarest currencies within LoL, Mythic Essence, which can be used to acquire special skins.

What is Mythic Essence in LoL? 

Gemstones and Prestige Points have combined to become the new, unified rare currency of League—Mythic Essence (ME). First introduced in season 12, ME is now the currency used to acquire the Prestige skins, alongside other items that can be found in the Mythic shop.

What is the Mythic shop?

It’s the new home for all the craftable Mythic and Prestige content, which cannot be bought through Riot Points. The Mythic shop is accessible in your League Client via the Loot Tab.

What can you craft with Mythic Essence?

Below is the entire list of items you can craft with Mythic Essence:

1. Unvaulted Prestige Skins
2. Unvaulted Mythic Skins
3. New Prestige Skins
4. Blue Essence (BE)
5. Orange Essence (OE)
6. Random Skin Shards
7. Seasonal Mythic Skins with Border + Icon
8. Seasonal Mythic Ward Skins
9. Mythic Emotes
10. Mythic Chroma + Icon (if you have the Mythic skin unlocked)

Unvaulted Mythic Content is content that is only available temporarily in the Mythic Shop and can be crafted with ME.

When a Mythic or Limited Skin is first released, it can be unlocked throughout the duration of that event. When the promotion ends, however, the skins are removed from the Mythic shop and will enter the “loot pool” where they can be re-rolled into or dropped as a reward.

Please note that for content to be eligible for unvaulting, it needs to be at least 1 year old, meaning that if a recent promotion expires, you will have to wait quite a while before getting the chance to craft it.

How to farm more Mythic Essence?

ME can be acquired and earned in all the same ways Gemstones and Prestige Points were, ranging from Event Mission rewards, Event Orbs and Capsules, Masterwork Chests, Summoner Leveling rewards, and Loot Milestone rewards.

Prestige Points and Gemstones 

All gemstones will be converted to ME with a ratio of 1 Gemstone = 10 ME. Prestige points, on the other hand, have all expired and will no longer exist.
