Fortnite’s wide range of skins and cosmetics are one of the biggest draws for a lot of the player base. For a good part of all Fortnite seasons, you’re been able to gift skins and items. What about gifting Fortnite V bucks though? The in-game representation of cash is a little trickier.
It makes sense to want to gift V bucks in Fortnite. While you could pick out a skin or other item for your friend, gifting v bucks gives them complete choice. They could use it on a particular skin they like or even to help get the Battle Pass that’ll reward them with even more V-Bucks. It isn’t quite as easy as just sending over the in-game cash though.

In-game, gifting an item in Fortnite is pretty simple. All you need to do is head into the menu, find the item in the Fortnite item shop you want to gift, and then select the give as a gift. When it comes to giving out V bucks though, it’s a bit more complicated.
Players can’t directly gift V bucks that Fortnite uses from one account to another. Epic doesn’t allow it. If you want to gift something, you’ll usually have to purchase the items with V bucks first and then send the item to someone. There are workarounds if you really want to gift V bucks though.
How to Give Someone V-Bucks
If you definitely want to send over Fortnite V bucks rather than any specific item, you do have options. The best way to do is to use an actual gift card. Epic sells gift cards. You can redeem these gift cards in-game to get V-Bucks! You could use this gift card as a traditional method of giving V-Bucks. Just purchase a gift card and physically hand it over to your friend. You could even get a digital gift card to get the V bucks to transfer without having to do it physically too.
This is a nice way around the restrictions on V-Bucks. While it might require a little. bIt of extra work, this way you can gift v bucks in Fortnite even without being able to do it directly. Then your friend can take their pick of the newest or best Fortnite skins and redeem the currency for something they actually want!
