CoD Mobile World Championship 2025: Viewership improves, but what's in store?

The CoD Mobile World Championship 2025 was a grand affair. The tournament happened at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, USA with a huge prize pool of $1 million. While GodLike Esports were the talk of the tournament for making it to the Grand Finals, the competition was a good sign for CoD Mobile esports, as it saw an increase in viewers.

CoD Mobile, while immensely popular, has been unable to match the viewership of other mobile esports titles. One of the reasons for this is that the game hasn’t properly tapped the mobile-first markets of South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America – the primary drivers for mobile esports. Nonetheless, the viewership of the 2025 World Championship is a positive sign as it saw increased engagement from fans before 2025.

CoD Mobile World Championship 2025 sees a 27 percent increase in peak viewers

The 2025 edition of the CoD Mobile World Championship recorded 50,796 peak viewers, per Esports Charts. This was observed during the semifinal matchup between favorites Luminosity Gaming and the Indian representatives, GodLike Esports. This is a 27 percent jump since the previous edition.

Notably, out of the top four most watched games, three involved GodLike Esports, showing the potential of the Indian market. This comes after Activision increased the slots from India to two teams in 2025. Ultimately, it was China’s Wolves who came out on top with a 4-2 victory over GodLike Esports.

Activision, which works with ESL as the esports partner for the game, should now leverage the game’s esports scene effectively. Increased community tournaments, content around esports, and a clearer roadmap are the need of the hour to grow the game. The 2025 edition has shown the potential of the title as a well-balanced esports game.
