After an early exit from the Stockholm Major, Astralis announced a major roster move. It was stated that Astralis would be bringing in the two danish Complexity rock stars in BlameF and K0nfig.
The first question that popped into my mind is “Who is being replaced?”. Without any information, it seemed the first player to be replaced would be Bubzki. However, it appears that was not the case. This question now has a surprising answer with the rumors surrounding the departure of Magisk, dupreeh and zonic being confirmed.
Is this new roster an upgrade over the old one?

Astralis re-formed
Astralis has not been the same ever since Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz left the organization. They were already struggling before the departure, but after it happened, everything went downhill quickly. Recent results had them tank down in rankings from the best team in the world to a barely Top 10 team.
No amount of sugar coating can cover how poor of a performance Astralis has had this season. Something had to give, and it seems the recent Major was the final blow for the best CSGO team of all time.
Grass is always greener..
It is an extremely interesting roster move for a couple of reasons. First of all, BlameF only began in game leading when he joined Complexity. He took the CS scene by storm with his big muscles, work ethic and great fragging. Since he took over as in-game leader, he has played lights out Counter Strike series after series. He was one of the two most important players on that team.
It will be very interesting for him to be playing under in-game leader Gla1ve, who is considered one of, if not the, best IGL of all time. Seeing how cerebral BlameF is in the server, it will be fun to see what he can do without the responsibility of shot calling. Additionally, he may be able to provide Gla1ve with good insight on mid-round situations.
The other addition to Astralis will be K0nfig, an incredible talent for a long time. Finally earning his spot on a good team, this will be K0nfigs shot at winning some big tournaments. He has incredible aim, game sense and ability to stay calm in clutch situations.
With dupreeh and Magisk leaving, there are some massive shoes to fill. However, it seems that these two may be the right fit for the job. Astralis has clearly stagnated in the last few months if not years. Bringing in new blood who have an obvious drive to win is the best possible thing for the team at the moment.
Honestly, everything should be considered an upgrade after watching Astralis at the recent PGL Major 2021.
