FNCS Global Championship 2025 – Biggest FN Event Begins Soon

The FNCS Global Championship is nearly here, a huge event to cap off an entire year’s worth of competitive events for Fortnite. While we’ve had other big events before like a Grand Royale, and the World Cup, Fortnite has a new structure this year. The entire Chapter 4 Fortnite esports has led up to this.

2023’s new format for competitive Fortnite has seen a number of seasonal Majors take place. Each secured more players a slot at this end of year event. It’s going to be a full LAN event, where the very best Duos from each region compete in the same room and the same lobby. What can we expect at the FNCS Global Championship?

Format

The FNCS Global Championship is switching to a relatively new format for competitive Fortnite. LANs have only taken place in a few limited spaces for the game. We’ve had the World Cup, Fortnite Grand Royale last year, and some smaller events. However, this year’s Global Championship is taking a more streamlined format.

There are 74 different Duos qualified for the FNCS. It’s all running over October 13th to 15th. It takes place in Copenhagen, in a live event fitting for a conclusion to a year’s worth of Fortnite. With extra Duos qualified and both a bracket and final stage, there’s a few differences in this event.

Bracket

The tournament will begin with a Bracket stage. Here competitors are in two different groups. The first plays on the 13th. This is the Upper Bracket, all 50 Duos from the FNCS Majors this season play here. They compete in 5 matches with points given for both placement and eliminations. At the end of the bracket, the top 25 Duos move to the Finals while the bottom 25 have face another round.

The second batch is the lower bracket, taking place on October 14th. Here those 25 bottom placing Duos are competing with another Batch from the Last Chance Qualifier. 5 more matches are played. At the end, the top 25 move forward and the bottom 25 are eliminated from the FNCS Global Championship.

Grand Finals

The FNCS World Championship culminates in a one-day finale. Here we’ll see 50 Duos compete, this time in a 6-game series. They get points in each game for both placement and elims. At the end of the five games, the top-ranking team becomes our new Fortnite World Champion.

There might not be a World Cup Fortnite anymore, but the FNCS Grand Championship is a truly international event, and the winners here will have as much claim to being the best Fortnite players as those on top in 2025 did.
