PGL Major Copenhagen 2025 Playoffs Preview | Easy For Spirit?

In just a couple of days’ time, eight of the best Counter-Strike teams in the world will take the stage in Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, to continue their quest to be crowned Kings of the first CS2 Major. The Playoffs of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025 are here, with arguably the strongest set of matches a Major Playoffs has ever had at this stage of the competition.

To celebrate such a strong lineup, we’re taking a deep dive into each match-up to see who we think will take the first round of matches!

Cloud9 vs. Vitality

  • Time: 28th March, 5PM CET
  • Our prediction: Cloud9 1:2 Vitality

As winners of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2025, Vitality go into these Playoffs looking to go back-to-back. This is not the same Vitality, though, with mezii and flameZ in place of Magisk and dupreeh. Throughout the tournament so far, ZywOo has been ill, which has affected his performance on the server, and it remains to be seen if the break between games helps him recover. Vitality will need him back in top form if they’re going to beat Cloud9.

On Cloud9‘s side, this team has done an incredible job in reaching the Playoffs at all. This AWPer-less roster is countering the meta right now by only picking up the Big Green when absolutely necessary, rotating the weapon between a few capable hands. And to be fair to them, it’s working. It has been a great run so far, and they’ll need a resurgent Ax1Le to continue to his form if they’re to have any chance of beating Vitality.

We think that if ZywOo comes back feeling better, Vitality take this series 2:1.

Spirit vs. FaZe Clan

  • Time: 28th March, 8PM CET
  • Our prediction: Spirit 2:0 FaZe Clan

After meeting each other in the IEM Katowice 2025 Grand Final, we have the pleasure of getting Spirit vs. FaZe Clan in a Quarter-Final! For Spirit, this is the chance to really cement themselves as the undisputed best CS team in the world right now. If donk turns up in his Katowice form, he’ll leave FaZe with absolutely no chance in this tie. Anything less, and this becomes a real contest.

It’s not often that FaZe are the underdogs, but that’s exactly how we’d characterize them here. Here, it’s frozen and broky who need to make the difference. They’ve been FaZe’s top performers at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025, and if they don’t follow their form through to the Playoffs, it’ll be a swift exit here.

We think we’ll see a clean sweep for Spirit in a repeat of Katowice. Either way, we suspect the victor in this matchup will go on to win the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025.

Eternal Fire vs. NAVI

  • Time: 29th March, 5PM CET
  • Our prediction: Eternal Fire 1:2 NAVI

This one is going to be a banger. Eternal Fire are a team that wear their hearts on their sleeves, playing bold Counter-Strike their own way. XANTARES is in the form of his life on LAN, while MAJ3R is comfortably the best-performing IGL in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025 Playoffs, as far as pure fragging numbers are concerned. No matter what happens against NAVI, expect Eternal Fire to put on a show of exciting Counter-Strike.

NAVI‘s chances in this one could all come down to two players – iM and w0nderful. These two players have had polar opposite tournaments so far. For iM, he’s having arguably a career-worst tournament at the exact wrong moment, carried by the strength of his teammates, and needs to wake up for the Playoffs. But w0nderful has lived up to his name so far, putting in some great performances throughout the first CS2 Major. As long as these two show up, NAVI should be fine.

We’re back those two players to do just that, with NAVI taking the Quarter-Finals against Eternal Fire in a tight 2:1 series.

MOUZ vs. G2

  • Time: 29th March, 8PM CET
  • Our prediction: MOUZ 2:0 G2

Finally, there’s MOUZ vs. G2 – the amazing matches just don’t stop coming. MOUZ have been powered by amazing form all around, with Jimpphat, xertioN, Brollan, and torzsi posting amazing numbers across the board. If siuhy can keep his troops singing to the same tune in the Playoffs, there’s no reason that they shouldn’t have more than enough quality to take down G2.

G2 made the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025 Playoffs via divine intervention, after Jame’s PC crashed in a crucial round against Virtus.pro. They’ll need another miracle to take down MOUZ here. So far, m0NESY has been the saving grace for G2, with the Kovač cousins struggling to find impact at the worst of times. The duo needs to come alive here, because if m0NESY has to carry alone, then G2 are already out of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2025.

We think that once again, this isn’t NiKo’s moment to win a Major, and MOUZ should sweep this series quite comfortably.
